Dining at The White Oak Inn

After an exciting day on the road to Ohio’s Amish area, there’s a warm welcome and home-cooked meal waiting for you at The White Oak Inn. In our kitchen, we combine traditional, family recipes, farm-fresh ingredients, and local delicacies to give you an authentic taste of Ohio’s flavors. Every menu is planned daily, so only the freshest ingredients make it from our kitchen to your dining room table.

There are many virtues in made-from-scratch cooking, and ease certainly isn’t one of them! Yet, our passionate cook, farmstand shopper, and lovely innkeeper, Yvonne Martin, just won’t have it any other way. Here’s a sneak peek of what’s cooking at The White Oak Inn.

Dining Room Experiences at the Inn

Served in Our Dining Room

Complimentary Country Breakfast

Each morning at The White Oak Inn, the smell of muffins and freshly baked scones wafts from our kitchen to the staircase to greet you. Our full country breakfasts served in the inn dining room are generous in portion and include one of two main course options, one sweet and one savory. We plan our breakfast menu daily with local farm-fresh eggs, produce, and herbs from our garden. Some of our most-requested dishes include:

  • Stuffed French toast
  • Artichoke tomato strata
  • Herb-scrambled eggs with tomato basil sauce
  • Lemon pancakes with warm berry sauce

Specialty Sides: Fresh fruit, Amish-style peppered bacon or sausage, specialty roast coffee, and hot teas accompany each breakfast.

Guests who would prefer to enjoy a lighter meal in their room can pick up one of our continental breakfast baskets at a pre-arranged time.  These include a fruit plate, fresh-baked muffins, hard-boiled eggs and your beverages of choice..

Dietary Requests: We are happy to accommodate special dietary requests, such as gluten-free, vegetarian, low-fat, or low-sugar meals. Please contact us at least 48 hours before your arrival to ensure our kitchen receives your message

Four-Course Dinner with a Personal Touch

Our four-course dinners are a unique experience for anyone visiting Ohio’s Amish area. Like every meal enjoyed at our inn, we create our dinner menus daily with an emphasis on local ingredients, like fresh herbs and vegetables from our inn’s garden as well as locally sourced meats and cheeses. Our savory soups, home-made salad dressings, and decadent desserts are all carefully crafted in the inn kitchen, using tried-and-true treasured recipes.

No Corkage Fee: We are happy to provide glasses, corkscrews, and ice for no additional charge. However, because our inn is in a dry township, we cannot sell alcoholic beverages. You are welcome to bring your beverage of choice to enjoy. Nearby local wineries include Heritage Vineyard Winery, French Ridge, and Raven’s Glenn Winery. For even more thoughtful recommendations, remember to view our Amish Country Destination Guide.

If you’re not staying at the inn, but would still like to come for dinner? Just give us a call at 740-599-6107. If we have space in the dining room, we will be happy to have you join us.

*Regrettably, the inn is located in a dry township, and we cannot sell alcoholic beverages. Guests are however welcome to bring the beverage of their choice to enjoy. We are happy to provide glasses, corkscrews, and ice. The liquor store in Danville (10 minutes’ drive from the inn) has a small selection of wines for those guests who forgot to bring some with them.
